Junk. Absolutely junk. That's exactly the type of food I can't keep my hands off. Now imagine, cheese burst out of a pizza slowly and then all at once exploding in your mouth and that makes you forget about your blood sucking boss or a nagging girlfriend, we, my friends, are fixating on correct things in life.
The times when you care a fiddlestick about the calories you consume. About the hygiene. About the weight. Infact, just the aroma of a vada pav near Mithibai college, Vileparle, can ask you to park your vehicle while returning from a heavy duty morning walk from the Juhu Beach and grab a bite of the sumptuous vada pav there. And I see someone sticking their tongue out while reading this. Happens happens. Isn't street a.k.a. junk food something we all crave for? And obviously, why wouldn't we like it? A salad sandwich at a Subway outlet is more expensive than chaat at Elco market, Bandra. A kilogram of good quality apples is more expensive than a tropicana tetra pack. Taste bhi, health bhi ;) And you can never ever complain of lack of flavor in the street food. Lack of salt? They'll drop their sweat in. Lack of asafoetida? They'll put some cheap laxative in it. Lack of sugar? They'll put cornstarch in it. So convenient and so less fussy.
Also, A fetish with 'desserts' ,which is usually under an alias such as 'ifit'sfooditbetterbesomethingsweet', is what I always cringe for. It's better than fantasising about the other lovely things that we do fantasise about, at times. Don't take any offences, ladies :) Buffets serve this purpose very well because fellas, abundance is the key.
These sweet somethings speak to you, call out to you and you wonder, why is it the last meal in a course, after all? A dessert can be treacly and can transport you in Willy Wonka's land or it can be tangy leading to teetering of your teeth. It can be shearing hot or mercilessly cold which can precariously give you a brain freeze. It can be liquid and seamless to be carefully spilled over a cube of ice cream or the with added toppings and sprinkles, catering to all kinds of hoggers. It can be hard and crispy or soft and gooey waiting for you to delicately dive in.
Desserts can be as simple as the wobbly jelly made at home or the fancy yet meticulously glazed Tiramisu or that spongy, marshmallow dipped in the darkest of dark chocolate sending your taste buds into a tizz. I may be a faithful boyfriend, but I have had many a short affairs with these sweet little somethings. *winks*
